"IT HELPS TO KNOW...": A MEET THE HELPERS SKILL-BUILDING STORY FOR CHILDREN

Based on the concept of Social Stories, “It Helps To Know” is an educational story that caregivers and educators can use to help neurodiverse and neurotypical children prepare for complex situations. Click the image below to download and print. 

 

Grown-ups Guide:

  • 911 should only be called if you or someone with you is hurt or in danger.
  • 911 operators will send fire, police and/or an ambulance to help.
  • Children may need to know how to unlock the phone in order to dial 911.
  • Children should know their first and last names, caregivers' first and last name, and address.
